Mitsubishi Electric Corporation today announced that it has developed seven new X-series products (two HVIGBT modules and five HVDIODE modules). These modules expand the X-Series range to 24 power semiconductor modules suitable for smaller Inverter’s with increasing capacity used in traction motors, DC power transmitters, large industrial machinery and other high-voltage, high-current equipment.

- Extended range adapts to different inverter capacities: The range of 24 X-Series models (two new HVIGBT modules and five new HVDIODE modules) ranges from 1.7 kV to 6.5 kV to accommodate different inverter capacities in large industrial equipment.
- Increased current rating to support smaller, higher capacity inverters: The CSTBT™ chip and seventh-generation RFC diode chips help reduce power loss and thermal resistance, resulting in higher rated current to support higher capacity inverters. Compared to the current CM900HC-90H, the new CM900HC-90X and other models are 33% smaller in size, yet achieve the same rated voltages and currents.
- Compatible models simplify parts replacement and inverter development: The CM2400HCB-34X and other models offer the same compatibility specifications, as well as the same dimensions as the current HVIGBT (CM2400HC-34H), in order to streamline the development of new inverters.
