Wood burning stover installation – Torrevieja

We continue installing wood cookers all over the province of Alicante. Today’s work was done in Torrevieja, where we have our workshop and shop. We left it already working, which with the weather was not a bad idea. The installation was done in the living room of a villa in the area. Don’t miss the photos and the tips on chimney maintenance below.

As you can see, the corner is very nice, thanks to this modern and minimalist design cooker. And of course warm, which is the ultimate goal and why we all think about installing a cooker at home.

How often should I maintain the fireplace?

It will depend on the amount of use that is made of it, as well as the wood with which the fire is prepared. In places where there is a lot of damp wood, it is common to hear that chimney cleaning is carried out on a very regular basis. With this in mind, a regular chimney check will be less necessary if we start using more dry wood.

Wet wood usually brings worse results, as it intensifies the build-up of soot and creosote, so if you manage to stay away from wet wood as much as possible you could sweep chimney sweeps at least once a year. Otherwise, you should be cleaning your cooker every few months, to avoid any health repercussions.

And in case you were wondering, many experts believe that the best time to maintain your cooker or fireplace is just before the onset of winter or the cold seasons. That way you won’t have any problems with enjoying a good fire and a nice warmth during these times.
