Tips for overcoming a heat wave

It’s already August! And the last few days we have suffered from very high temperatures, which must have made most of us very hot.

Therefore, from ACTorrevieja we want to leave you some simple advice, so that these days of strong heat are as pleasant as possible.

The first thing is a responsible use of our air conditioning machines, no need to go with a scarf in our house in August ;). It is very important that we close doors and windows, to get more insulation and not lose the freshness that we have accumulated with the air conditioning.

We also recommend that you turn off all appliances and electronic equipment and machines, which are not indispensable, since every machine and electrical system has a loss of energy in the form of heat. That will raise the temperature of our home.

Including the lighting, in summer we have many hours of light, try to turn on the lights as little as possible. This way we will manage to lower the temperature of our home and save on the electricity bill.

Adapt your home to the summer, the more isolated your house is from the outside, the less heat will enter from the outside. This way we can cool the house faster, cheaper and more responsibly.

Drink lots of water, not only we have to limit ourselves to drink lots of water at the beach, in our home we must also ingest a healthy amount of this vital liquid, to avoid dehydration, dizziness and headaches. By increasing our hydration we get a better quality of life and comfort.

And finally do not go out during the hottest hours of the day, especially if you suffer from heart disease or various chronic diseases. This way you will avoid heat stroke, so frequent in summer. Taking care of yourself is important!

From ACTorrevieja we want you to spend a happy and comfortable summer, either from the comfort of your home or on holiday. This requires a responsible use of our resources and a series of measures that are very easy to follow and that surely most of us knew about.
